Well. This one has some odd colouring effects, as well.

I think my digital devices are in revolt.

but that's so cool! it gives the whole picture a nest effect.

I took oh I don't know how many pictures today, and in some cases I remembered to work around the spot and the odd effects. we'll see how they turn out, I have hundreds to wade through to get to today's. I've decided to go back through all the old folders and separate them into family, friends (and then send those, in bunches by email or I suppose on a cd) and art. three big folders to start with. then maybe as I'm doing that, themes will emerge, and of course nests are one, and then I'll pick the best, print those, frame them for myself, and if they fit in the themes of calls for art I see I'll submit them and maybe pay for the printing costs. if nothing else, I'll clear up some space on the hard drive and have something of my own up on the walls.

oh yes, and I've got two verses now of the fate of stars villanelle (the melody) and have started on waiting (the bobolink). the fate of stars is kind of like an old ballad, and the bobolink one is swingy doris day kind of jazz. I'll send mp3s for your amusement, probably in the next couple days.

way cool on both points - the sorting of photos and the poems-to-music!

well, the bobolink's coming along pretty well, it's very light and chirpy, though it's going away from doris day and towards ella fitzgerald. but the fate of stars! has turned into an odd dark minor jazz sort of thing. I'm really enjoying this. I've fiddled around making songs before but just basic blues I woke up this morning, I was feeling so low, you know. not that I'm dissing those sorts of songs, I love them. but this is much fun in a different way.
